Avoid “Black Hat”
Many companies still use different techniques to increase rankings trying to confuse search engines. Some webmasters don’t even know that their idea to increase rankings is “black hat”, also webmasters and companies don’t even know that they use “black hat” SEO because they hire companies or people who help them to promote a website. Here some “black hat SEO” examples:
- “I need #1 position and I going to spend whole day to add my site in 700 directories using this keyword”.
Strategy like this called “keyword spam”… search engine algorithms recognize and see it really fast. To get #1 position you need quality backlinks from related websites.
- “Wow! These guys can give me 150 blog posts with my link for $30 only”.
“Black hat” again… Google wants to see real blog posts and they punish for using fake blogs which created for link building.
- “Over 100G visitors in 1 day!!! Apply now.”
Be careful, this people will send you traffic using different software which affect people computers and redirect them to your website… easy to say… traffic will come from virus infected computer. Real SEO takes time and solid SEO companies promise traffic improvement only after 1-3 month.
- “Ok guys… I should be more social and comment from blogs adding link as name or signature.”
Comment spam in blogs is #1 problem for bloggers. Search engines fight with blog / guestbook / forum spammers by removing them from index.
- “What if I exchange links with 1000+ websites???”
There is nothing wrong with link exchange, but you have to exchange links with related websites.
- “Cool site! You can buy and sell links. They got over 20 000 members and it is pretty cheap.”
Buying links to increase search engine positions is “black hat” SEO. You can buy links only to get clicks and in this case webmaster who sold link for your site should use “nofollow”tag, JavaScript, or redirect which doesn’t affect search engines rankings. Website can loose pagerank and positions for buying or selling links.
- “OMG… what if I pay someone good money to promote my site”.
In this case you have to check this company (person) previous work, ask for portfolio, feedback. They should explain how they going to promote your site before you paid any money.
